We might not ever get early releases for snow or ice BUT last week, we did let out of school at 2pm because of a sandstorm. The text message to all parents from the school read: "Urgent Message: As per the directive of the Ministry of Education and US embassy, we will dismiss students at 2pm today because of an approaching sandstorm. No after school activities." Yay! We love snow days... I mean sand days! Turns out it was a dud but the air remained "dirt foggy" for 3 days. Here is a pic our friend Wendy snapped. That is the sun midday blotted out by the dirt.
