MESC Champs!

Last weekend Austin and some friends went to Dubai to play in the Middle East Softball Championship.  While walking on the field, sizing up their competition, Austin said they were in for it.  This was serious softball.  Everyone had full uniforms and sponsored everything: from the cup to the cleats.  Here the Oman Bulldogs, age ranging from mid 20's to 60's, walk up with their printed t-shirt, (which Austin refused to wash during the 6 games) and mismatched pants.  Little did the challengers know these men had some hidden talents: a swift shortstop (Ryan), stretchable first baseman (Austin), great team manager (pulled hamstring/Kirkley), and some awesome outfielders (Luther); the team turned out to be unstoppable.  After 6 games, the team won the Championship: beating out Saudi, Doha, Bahrain, Dubai, and more!  Kelly and I got to surprise the boys on Friday and made a quick flight to watch a couple games.  It was fun watching them and made me wish I would have known Austin in college.  I would have loved to swoon in the stands! ;)  Oh, and Kirkley is going back to the US for a little training/vacation, if you see him limping, please try to pick him up and carry him.  This makes him really uncomfortable and me very happy.  (love you Kirkley!)

Congratulations Bulldogs!
